Oh yes, I re-read a lot. I particularly re-read many of my favorite fantasy and science fiction books over and over again. I've probably read Tolkien's Lord of the Rings 8 or 9 times at least.

The tchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy probably 10 times. I've probably read the earlier Harry Potter books at least a dozen times (and the only reason I haven't read the later ones as much is because they haven't been published that long); I read Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire alone three times in the first 3 days after it was published. I'm probably closing in on two dozen times for most of the books in the Miles Vorkogsian series and the Honor Harrington series and Prachett's Discworld series.

The list of books I've read 3-4 times is way too long to put here. (Xanth series, The Dark is Rising series, King's Daggers and King's Blades series, Bazil Broketail, Wizard's Bane, Edding's Belgariad and related books, Watt-Evan's Ethshar books, Lackey's Valdemar and related books, McCaffery's Pern and Rowan series, just to name a few. ) I've also have some non-fiction books that I enjoy re-reading every few years: Tannen's books on communication styles, the Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus books, Miss Manners, Getting Things Done book on time management/personal organization, compliations of Odgen Nash's poetry, all my Dilbert and Far Side books, etc..

Oh yeah! And the older I get, the longer my list gets. Sometimes it is because I need to remember a little better.

I feel that my retention is not especially good. Most of the time it is because I enjoy the world and the characters, and I want to revisit them. Some of the things I reread: 1--The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston LeRoux.

I think M. LeRoux and I would have been great friends. "Phantom" gets funnier everytime I read it.2--Imajica, Galilee by Clive Barker.

I like the main characters. 3--Old Path, White Clouds by Thich Nhat Hanh It is his novelization (?) of the Buddha’s life, very beautiful and gentle. I don't spend time in that place often enough.4--Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, or almost anything else by Hunter Thompson.

Las Vegas is probably the most enjoyable; laugh-out-loud funny. Raoul Duke was a genius. I have probably forgotten as many as I have named.

Jean Auel I have read all of Jean Auel's books twice, except for the last one she published, it was so boring, I barely got through it the first time. This was eons ago. My favorite though out of all of them, were: Clan of The Cave Bear, & The Valley of The Horses I read The Color Purple Twice I don't normally read a book twice though, unless I am totally bored and can't quite remember what it was about..

I often keep books with the intention of re-reading them. When I read a book I really enjoy I will put it in a drawer in my room thinking that I will read it again. I have a drawer packed full of books that have never been re-read!

I don’t think I have ever once re-read a book, but I find it hard to part with a good book. I have a pile of unread books and when I have time to read I always feel I should read these books first. Of course if I would get off the computer once in awhile I could probably read them all!.

Absolutely! If you really love a book you will find that when you go back and read it again you will pick up on little things that you missed the first time around. I have found this to be true with most books that I re-read, but the one book that this really holds true for is 'The Time Travelers Wife' by Audrey Neffenegger.

I have read it 3 times now and everytime there is something new that springs forth from the pages. Other books I just love so much, that I have to re-read them every few years. A few of those would be 'The God of Small Things' by Arudhati Roy, 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, 'Clan of the Cave Bear' by Jean Auel, 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austin, 'Les Miserables' by Victor Hugo and 'L'Assommoir' by Emile Zola It is always nice to revisit an old friend.

Especially on a chilly Saturday. So, turn off the computer, brew a pot of tea, wrap yourself up in a throw, find a comfy place and have a great read. “If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
