Do you send text messages on your cell phone? Do you get text messages from others you know? Can you block messages?

I have AT&T and originally I had signed up with Cingular. I don't use the texting thing myself but I have gotten some from people that I know and don't want to get them as it makes my bill go up, Is there a way to stop it w/o going to each person and telling them? I used DONOTCALL and I think something else to get the 'ads' that my provider kept sending stopped, now I have to do this.

Texting I have, I have, and yes you can. You can ask your cell phone provider to block all text messges that way you will not get charged for them. My former BF was getting them from someone he didn't know so we just called Verizon and asked them to block them.

They asked if we just wanted to block that number or all text messages. We opted for all text messages on his phone and he hasn't gotten another one since. That's how we solved it.

4 What EP said is the only way, have it removed from your account. I HAVE received spam texts before and it is infuriating. I have a text package, so it doesn't really cost me more since I text anyway, but just getting them is aggrevating as heck.AT&T can still send you text messages, even if you have text blocking, but it doesn't cost you anything.
