Well, first off, I consider "white lies" to be small and non-life altering. So, yes, if a friend gets her hair cut, and asks me how she looks, even if I'm not crazy about it, I'll try to sound supportive. Maybe point out a part that is okay, or beat around the bush a bit.
After all, she can't tape the hair back on again.
No I do not tell littel white lies. Little or big a lie is a lie. You break trust when you lie and trust is a difficult thing to ever get back.
Once it is gone it is gone and the person will always question you in the back of their mind. To say that a lie is okay for the sake of others feelings is simply a cop out. Sometimes it is better not to answer them at all.
I would say depending on the situation. Me personally I would rather them be mad at me for a day or so for me telling them the truth than for me to get into a habit of lying to them and then not know where to draw the line. Which has happened to me as well so you can learn from Super Chef's and my mistakes or learn them on your own.
No I don't think you should. From experience a few years ago I found my best friends wife with another man, but I failed to tell him the whole truth. Anyway during an argument with his wife she told him I had seen everything and it backfired on me.
Now we haven't spoken for a good ten years or so. Telling the truth is my only policy now.
I want to say NO! But I have if it is too much for them to bear. The best way to approach this is to think of it in their perspective, would you want them to tell you the truth or a lie.
If I'm having a bad day already and my hair is crappy, and I ask do I look okay, I expect a white lie to cheer me up but that is just me.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
