Do you think it rude of me when I ask a question, and then thank only certain people on my question?

2 I think you should do what you think best. I don't know when it became fashionable to thank every one who answers a question... but don't just do what others do--unless you believe in it.

3 No one has ever said you have to thank everyone, or anyone. However, if a person gives you a helpful answer, and you don't thank them simply because you don't like them, while thanking your friends - well, I will leave it up to you to decide how that appears.

What do others think, since this is a public discussion board, what do others think is the proper etiquette or protocol. I already have my opinion, I want others honest opinions.

If I ask a question usually I thank the person that took the time to share their knowledge. If the DB goes into the little personal debate and barbs exchanges I just read and enjoy them. Let’s face it.... if you get criticized you need to ignore the person.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
