He was not one of the disciples. However, I offer this assessment. Part of the raising was to fulfill all righteousness and to express the power of faith to those whose testimony was not as strong.In much the same way with the Savior's baptism it had a larger purpose than those small and singular ideas we often rehash.

Lazarus was not resurrected. Lazarus eventually died which cannot occur with a resurrection. Resurrection is the permanent joining of the body and spirit after they have been separated.

What happened to Lazarus was exactly what you have described in your question - raised from the dead. S spirit was simply brought back to the body - just not in a permanent form. A resurrection requires deity yet a raising from the dead requires true faith in conjunction with the will of the Father.
