Definitely not! Considering what they have done for their country and the risks they take, the very least they should have is complete access to any medical procedure required out of the tax base; that is, for free! Your anger is justified!
And so it begins with the present veterans. The government's response? "Thank you" while slapping you in the face.
America should be much more grateful, but if 9/11 responders are tossed in the trash by the government, what hope do veterans have? I believe veterans deserve much more than we offer them.
Like here in canada, I find the way our vets are treated appaling. We send them into harms way and when they come back we treat them like what they did was just another job. It is not only appaling but it shows the values of our governments.
In my opinion, no amount of health-care would be enough to offer our veterans. I am so sorry to hear about your brother, he deserves better. Our senators have found a very illegal path to elite treatment regarding their benefits vs the treatment of the rest of us.It is ridiculous that your brother must undergo such inhumane treatment at such a difficult and sensitive time.
It is almost criminal that he is denied a local treatment plan. It is simply disgusting... Cancer is a brutal beast and requires specialized treatment and care as swiftly and with the least amount of added stress as possible. These jack-a**es should be placed in your brothers shoes; I'm betting the rules would change quickly.
You both will remain in my thoughts.
As a veteran myself who uses the services if the V.A. Hospital, they take quite good care of me. I think all V.A.Facilities are not alike, the one in Cincinnati, Ohio I find to be top notch. All vets deserve the best care!
We simply do not do enough for the Americans who put themselves between America's enemies and America's families. I, for one, think we should do more for our returning vets.
Justtom glad to hear that you are having decent care. But, I am curious. If there is a VA hospital in Cincinatti, why is it that so many people who are getting treatment in Ann Arbor come from Ohio?
What kind of facility is it? Hospital or Clinic? I have seen people from as far away as Kentucky at the Ann Arbor hospital. It seems to me that Cincinnati would be a lot closer for them.
I have also seen people from Central Indiana. They would be closer to Cincinnati as well. We have a Clinic, and a VA home in Grand Rapids, but a majority of the major treatments and surgeries are done in Ann Arbor.
So, I guess it depends on what you are being treated for. I'm also curious as to how far you are away from you Cincinnati location. I have to drive my brother 4 and half hours one way every time he goes there.
When the VA in Grand Rapids is only 10 minutes from my house.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
