While some may argue that this award is premature, I disagree. This is a clear statement by the Nobel Committee not merely of the importance of U.S. Multilateralism to genuine progress toward global peace, but also of their understanding that climate change has become a critical international issue. Obama and his international negotiating team led by Secretary of State Clinton have helped create the first genuine chance that the entire world will come together and agree to sharply diverge from the catastrophic business-as-usual greenhouse gas emissions path.
This award simultaneously acknowledges what they have achieved and pushes them and the world toward delivering on Obama's promise. It is well deserved.
Not sure where you got that poll. I believe he deserved it. He has done more to make America look like the great country it really is in the eyes of the rest of the world than the last five presidents combined.
Bowing before another nation's leader is simply respect and you don't get respect unless you are willing to give it. Pulling your henchmen through a doorway after being told they need to wait outside is arrogant; not at all deserving of respect and, frankly, comes across a little cowardly don't you think? However, that's my opinion, so let's try to figure out why he may have been given this prize.
The only theory I can come up with is that, perhaps after eight years of embarrassing foreign policy by a "little Napolean," perhaps the reason he was awarded this prize was due to the stark contrast between Bush's foreign policy and Obama's foreign policy. Let's face it, after a monkey has been in power, a neanderthal would look like quite a wonderful leader.
The Nobel Peace Prize 2009 was awarded to Barack H. Obama "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
