Most businesses run more smoothly than the federal government; if they didn't, they would be bankrupt. Privatization can work in some areas, but there are certainly some "hands off" civil service positions that should never be privatized such as law enforcement and prisons. There are certain areas which are not designed to turn a profit.
Moreover, most privatized areas that were once controlled by the government are grossly corupt and incompetant. For instance, 70% of the U.S. Intelligence budget is paid to private corproations. Ever wonder why we still hear about fairy-tale terrorist threats?
Because the threat has to stay up or they lose money. Why have judges been caught sending innocent juveniles to private detention centers? Because they were getting "kickbacks" from the company for every prisoner sent to the facility.
Remember, jails/prisons receive funding based on how many prisoners they house. We need to get away from the concept of McDonaldizing the entire country and realize the effects once the human factor is considered.
No, it should not be. As the civil cervices are still performing in a well way under the control of government. But yes, if you want to decrease the level of the corruption.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
