Other great places to get free training are your school music programs like the chorus or glee clubs. Other groups like church choirs are great for getting free training and experience. The important thing is to have real, live advice from someone who knows the correct techniques for singing.

Stay away from video lessons. The problem with those is that they can show you the right way but they can't help you fix problems. You never know if you're doing something wrong.

It's easy to pick up bad, even dangerous habits from videos. Only a live person listening to you and giving you feedback can help you learn to sing.
