I am very skeptical about the claims made about magnets. My sister swears by them, and NEVER takes off her bracelet and also uses a seat pad in her car that contains magnets. She says they really help with arthritis pain.

She gave me a bracelet that has 6 magnets in it. I wore it for several months, but coulden't tell a difference one way or the other. Asked by shewalksdogs 53 months ago Similar questions: magnet bracelets products magnets health benefits Health > Alternative Medicine.

No, magnets do not have health benefits. You're right to be skeptical of these claims. Bottom line, there is no method by which magnets can affect the human body.

If magnets had the power to cure disease or ease pain, then anyone who receives an MRI scan would be spontaneously healed. A common claim is that magnets help improve blood flow, but of course neglect to describe how, exactly, this effect is achieved. You’ll sometimes hear some diversionary noise about "iron in the blood" but if that were the case, wearing magnetic insoles would cause the iron in your blood to collect in the feet.

That’s what magnets do to iron. Here in town there’s a farmer’s market every weekend, and there’s this altie who sets up shop and sells magnetic jewelry, and he’s got this big banner behind him with a list of all the ailments that magnets are supposed to cure. It’s everything from lethargy to allergies and beyond. It’s absolutely nuts.

And people drop $30 on some bracelet and wander off rationalizing their purchase by saying "at least it’s pretty. " (*sigh*) So no, there’s no evidence that magnets will do anything to your body, good or bad. No I don't. Look into the history Although I do believe in a lot of natural remedies and alternative therapies, this is one that is pure bunk. If you look into the history of the "doctor" who first developed the theory (Franz Mesmer) you will see that there is no scientific or natural basis for the benefits.

All that is there is quackery and a desire to make money from selling magnets. This continues today. There is a lot to be said about placebos.

And the brain is powerful. So if someone believes that it works, then great for them! For something like pain which we usually want to eliminate, then if this seems to work for someone, I would not want to kill that effect for them.

But I do believe that you can control pain yourself without paying money for things like magnetic bracelets.

I think they might work better for some people than others (?) I can't deny that magnetic energy exists. North pole, south pole, pull of the tides.... Even ordinary iron magnets. Electromagnets.

Magnetic resonance imaging. Maybe some people are more succeptable to the medicinal effects than others. A couple of years ago I had a really bad spell of luck.

Found out I had cancer & Epstein-Barr,all at once. So like a lot of people, I thought I'd try just about anything that would help me get better. Have you ever heard of Nikken?

It's a sort of alternative health company that sells all sorts of magnetic stuff. Shoes, jewelry, sports braces, bedding, sleep masks, water purifiers, etc. A friend of mine was really into all this stuff and she persuaded me to buy a mattress and duvet both impregnated with hundreds of little magnets about the size of a penny.(And for a king-sized bed, let me tell you, it COST a pretty penny! ) It was supposed to increase my sense of well-being, help with aches and pains, and promote a good night's rest.

The stuff is nice, very comfortable and very well made. But I didn't feel ANY difference at all. Nada.

So I figured, chalk this one up to experience, whatever. Then my sister came out to visit me, and we slept in the same bed. She wakes up in the moring and goes, "I don't believe what a good night's sleep I got!

I fell asleep on my BACK and I never do that! And I didn't get up or wake up the whole night. It was great!

" And I'd never mentioned anything about the magnetic stuff or anything to her. I waited a couple of nights before I told her, and each morning she woke in raptures over the wonders of my comfy bed. So finally I told her.

I gave her some jewelry for Christmas, and she swears it works for her.My sister is one of those people that can't wear a watch, because they always seem to stop on her. If you think about it, it's kind of eerie. So this makes me think that some people are probably more sensitive to it and it probably works better on some people than it does on others.

If you notice, people seem to be rather polarized (heh, heh, pardon the pun! ) about the subject. They seem to totally believe it works or say its a bunch of hooey..

Worked for me I had tennis elbow for a long time and finally wrapped my elbow with two dollar size magnets on either side of it and after several days the pain was less and less then finally gone! I had tried everything before that including cortizone shots right into the joint! OW!

Now I’m not sure about the bracelets and sleep pads, etc..... no experience with those. Sources: my experience GrammyJ's Recommendations Magnetic Therapy Neodymium Disk Biomagnets Amazon List Price: $40.00 .

2 I've seen some shows where they tested the magnets, and all the ones they tested weren't even strong enough to support their own weight through a few pieces of paper. If the magnetic field can't penetrate a few pieces of paper, how can it do anything through your skin? This user has been banned from Askville.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
