I don't who made it but as I recall it was finally carbon dated and it is not as old as it would have to be to be genuine.

It carbon dates to about the time of the fire that nearly destroyed it. That is odd, since it had been there for some time before the fire. If carbon dating was completely reliable, which it has been proven not to be, then its daing would be certain, but I would not want to rest my entire argument on one factor alone for dating the shroud.

The weave and composition of the fabric, as well as the pollen embedded within the fabric of the shroud are consistent with fabric from Israel at the time of Christ, so there is a reasonable argument in favor of much greater age for the shroud than carbon dating would indicate.

The real question about the shroud should rest on whether or not it is an authentic burial shroud. If it is authentic, then it is the shroud of Christ. It portrays a man crucified, scourged, and wounded about the brow in multiple places consistent with injury sustained by a crown of thorns, and wounded in the side.

If it an authentic burial shroud, it is Christ's. If it is not an authentic burial shroud, then it is a fake.

The priests who risked their lives to save it from the fire must have believed it to be a holy relic. The burns are the result of molten metal from the small casket that contained it dripping onto the shroud during the fire. It is unbelievable that they entered the fire to retrieve it from that heat if they thought it was a fake... after all, they could fake it agiain, and then claim that it had miraculously survived.

But before we "bandwagon" the notion, think again. If it is an authentic burial shroud then that's not what happened.

Ultimately, this issue is so polarized, because most people realize that this is one way evidence. If it is faked, it says nothing about the authenticity of the record of the crucifixion. It only points to a religious zealot who went overboard, or more likely, a charlatan who profited by faking the shroud and selling it as authentic.

But if it is the shroud of Christ, then it is physical evidence that the details of the crucifixion story in the Bible are true, and then the empty shroud becomes a fact that unbelievers must deal with.

I do think the shroud of Turin is a genuine shroud that is kept in Turin. Carbon dating suggests it is of medieval origin.

I'm just assuming you mean genuine as in not faked (as per the question) rather than genuinely the death shroud of Christ - which we are nearly certain to be untrue.

Possibly! I do believe in Jesus. They say that he was transported and that is why there is an imprint, When his soul came back into his body to be resurrected.

To Others: The piece they carbon dated was a part that was sewn on later and was not a piece of the actual shroud.

Yes, I have no reason to doubt it. Scientists have investigated and proven that it is authentic to the best of their knowledge.

It has been carbon dated. The age of it doesn't support it being real.

Yes! I believe the Turin Shroud to be the actual burial shroud of Jesus Christ.

In my opinion; the shrowd of Turin is genuine; Jesus was wrapped in it after when he was delievered from the Cross in near-dead position; he got recovered from his injuries by treatment of his friends secretly and he migrated to India from Judea alongwith his mother Mary. He died there naturally and peacefully at the age of about 120 years.

Wel, it's probably a death shroud but when it was finally released for proper dating it was shown to be too young to be the death shroud of Jesus. Of course, the believers piped up with 'God moves in mysterious ways,' get out of gaol card, or the , 'that was a later addition to the shroud,' anything so they can cling to their beliefs.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
