Do you think this psycho Anders Behring Breivik, culprit of the Norway killings is pure evil?

I think that's very possible. A lot of people don't like to believe in pure evil, but it's out there. Just look at what he did, killing scores of innocent people, many of them children.

Even if he had misguided or dangerous political/ideological beliefs, he appears to recognize right from wrong. He just did it anyway and planned it all out very rationally and coldly. To me that's evil.

I doubt it very much if he was evil in the common use of the word. I would guess that he is mentally deranged with serious psychotic problems. Evil is just a word to describe a really bad person by me , so lots of people are evil.

I don't think so. But what he did was pure evil. I don't know the guy personally but I guess, there is a reason behind the killing.

Labels : Makes life easy to pigeonhole I suppose, some way for people to understand something without actually having to think too much about it.

So that anything bad that happens we just brand that person evil and leave it at that.

I can think of many far more accurate words to call Anders Behring Breivik and his actions, long before I would use evil.

No doubt the lawyers will have a field day arguing the case and dragging it out for years for little purpose save lining their own pockets with gold.... Now that’s Evil.

There can be no justice or closer for any of the families of his victims while this man lives, it’s just a pity that he only has one miserable little life of his own to give them.

I don't think he's evil, just very, very miss-educated. As far as I understand, he lashed out at the government for allowing immigrants to enter the country more freely. He was manipulated into some very misguided beliefs.

He did say that his attacks were "atrocious", so to me that shows that he understand how horrible what he did was. If he was evil, he wouldn't call his actions that.

No - in the same way that tler wasn't a monster: he was just a man that did monstrous things.

We mustn't elevate these crimes: by according them some kind of supernatural significance, into something that they are not. This man is a murderous, racist bastard: pure and simple. He took his own personal prejudice and went looking for an 'ideology' that matched his own twisted view of the world.

He then used this 'ideology' as an excuse to justify playing god. Don't forget - this man considered himself a Templar Knight - the Templars defended the Temple of Solomon from the Saracens. If we needed any proof of where religious extremism can take people - we need look no further.

I think what he did was pure evil. He may have told himself the actions were based on good intention, but he allowed evil to influence some inner, brooding hatred. You don't murder innocent children or anyone else without harboring some really ugly resentments.

If he wanted to do something positive for the world he should have turned his back on whatever coaxed him. And when I think about it, the decision not to turn his back on the evil urgings was infinitely evil.

If having a conviction and then carrying out a set of actions in support of that conviction that kills a bunch of people in the process makes one evil, than yes. But then, a whole bunch of us should be considered pure evil as well.

Most of us don't think that of ourselves, choosing instead to believe that dead kids are justifiable in carrying out our own convictions. Plus we pay people to pull the triggers for us, which is clearly less psychotic.

More likely than him being evil. If he was programmed over a period of time he will certainly be damaged now.

Turn the word backwards, evil is when anyone is operating against life itself. Live. Evil, reversible.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
