Do you think writing a large number of poems daily is bad?

Just remember to eat and other things you need to live life.

Poetry is akin to emotion moreso than many other forms of writing. It cannot be bad if it helps you to release it. However, in my experience penning poetry to appeal to an audience so they can share your same emotions is the most difficult to convey.

Capture the flood in pen, let the magic weave. Then stop when you cannot add anymore. Sit on it for a couple of days and then analyse it and see if it still stirs you as it did on the day you wrote it.

Then fine tune it with your audience in mind and blow their socks off.

It can't be bad. If you can write a large number of daily, please continue doing so, this way not only you will get more ideas as you go along but also you will be able to create better and better poems each day.

I don't know why on earth that would be bad.

No writing a lot of poetry each day is not bad, if it doesn't interfere with other aspects of your life. Creating a lot of poetry helps you create better poems. I compare it to a photographer who takes thousands of pictures just to get that ONE great picture.

Accept that most of the poetry will be ordinary, and maybe one in one hundred or one thousand will be great.

No....I do it all the time. Lol, I'm not normal anyway (whatever that is). It's a good release.

Keep the poems coming ;).

Of course not! As long as you can put the pen (or keyboard) down once in a while, you're golden. Plus, the only way to get better is to keep it up!

Absolutely not. The writing of poems is a foray into the subconscious mind and can only improve not only your poetry but all your other writings as well. Novelists with a "poetic flare" are much more interesting and magical to read than are the strictly chronicling, cut-and-dry, devoid-of-symbol-and-nuance ones.

If nothing else, the writing of poetry is a most useful exercise for any writer and will improve his understanding of the workings of creativity and the human psyche.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
