Do younger generations "get" the unique connections Baby Boomers share?

As a GenX guy, I have no idea what you're talking about. So I would have to think that "no" is your answer. However, knowing Justtom, I'd say listen to him, as he's likely to know.

As Wayne says, we are the generation that has seen, lived through, even been involved in the greatest time of change. I'm English by the way but I recall every point that Wayne has mentioned. Due to the progress in technology, some youngsters these days seem to have had their 'playful childhood' taken away and replaced with a 'virtual reality childhood', they are not growing up following any similar path to that which we followed.

Their views of life, love, war, politics etc. Probably differs from that of ours. Having said that, progress back to the generation before us, do we fully understand their lives and the connections that they had? I would say that each generation/era has its own unique connections.

Did we not have disagreements with our parents or grandparents? Do we not now have disagreements with our children and grandchildren? As Mr Dylan said " The Times They Are A- Changin', and we all have to accept that!Wil.

I don't think they do. For most of us boomers, we were right on the "cusp" of technology. We experienced the first man on the moon, the impact of the transistor, color television, 3-D movies, 8-Track tape players.

We did vinyl records, had bicyles with streamers on the handlebars and playing cards clothespinned into our spokes. We were there for Elvis and The Beatles. We saw the Rock-a-Billy era, The Rock n' Rool Era, The Soul Era, and Psychodelic Era.

We were on the leading edge of drugs and marijuana. We saw the jet age come about in flight, watched the effects of a war fought with too many constraints, saw soldiers mistreated by our own citizens, and then embraced most of the new technology arriving on the scene of present day. We are a generation which can look both forward and backward relating to both.

I think that is truly unique. I don't know that there will ever be another generation who have seen so much change technologically and historical than that of the boomers. WB.

I believe the answer to that is how well we Boomers passed the torch to them. If we have shared the stories in a way that engaged them, made them think, made them want to recreate the experience, then yes, they "get" it. I also believe that some of those unique connections are not so much generational as they are a product of maturity.In other words, the older they get, the more they understand.

Ken, excuse me for not answering your Question but Mr. Happy seems to think he's special. Guess what numbnuts you think there wasn't poverty and sickness when we were your age? All that information you're getting isn't making you any smarter just more aloof.

Bad habits? I can tell by your answer you got yours too so stop being so judgmental. And as far as you cleaning up the house you probably can't even clean you own arse.

I think we do. We come from grandparents and parents who constantly fought wars for stupid reasons and we see that. We look around and see a world where poverty, sickness and greed has turned people into tools for each other's use.

We realize that we have access to an incredible amount of information and that is extremely important. We are the generation that leaks information because we regard the sharing of information and knowledge as critical for the human existence and perseverance. Many of us refuse to fight illegal and immoral wars started by greedy Baby Boomers.

We are the ones that will have to put an end to many bad habits. There is a lot of work for us ahead. Mr. Wayne, your generation will have to go fishing and let us clean-up the house while you're gone.

No offense to the "Baby Boomers" but it seems as though the whole concept was a marketing instrument to better serve advertising to members of that generation over the decades since the 1960's.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
