As it happens I was gifted a Pro (it's a long yawn, yawn story) with very similar specs just last week Having a 'retail' version of Win 7 Pro 64bit, I installed it - works like a dream Go ahead I'm also researching using a virtual set-up like VM Ware - on a relatives Mac Whoever edits Apple's 'help' pages, needs lessons in writing plain, easy to understand English.
Yes, it is confusing. Apple's not very good at writing Windows-related Support articles. Based on the linked info, your MacBook Pro can run a full, legal W 7 Home Premium x64 (the OEM version is $ 99, in Canada), Pro, or Ultimate.
BUT, it simply can't run XP or Vista at all.
These are only for 64-bit Win 7 MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) and later MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2008) and later MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2008) and later These are for 32bit and 63bit Win 7 MacBook Pro (Early 2011) Therefore your macbook can run Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit via bootcamp.
Yes, since your Mac is 64-bit. Most computers have been 64-bit since late 2008.
I don't think so may be 34 bit would work , try it.
