Orkut was once very popular in India but now the craze for using it is in decline. I do not know the exact cause as I have never used it. But there are still many who use it as they find it suitable for them & upto their choice.
There are also many who do not like it as it does not suit their requirements & so they do not use it.
Definitely, somebody uses it, in a social networking people has their own different likes and dislikes.
Great question. I looked into Orkut a little over a year ago, but it was not a compelling platform for me because none of my friends used it - a critical detail when choosing a social network! So who does use it?
Believe it or not, Orkut is HUGE with the Brazilian population, and for a while it was the #1 platform in India. As to why / how it got so huge... I'm not sure, but my guess is timing had something to do with it because I don't find the features of Orkut any more compelling than Facebook.
I have researched Orkut, however, I just don't find it something that I would really enjoy. I prefer Facebook. Orkut just isn't talked about, not many really want to try it.
I didn't find it extremely easy to navigate like Facebook or Myspace. No one that I know is on Orkut, and everyone I know is on Facebook. A few have looked at the layout of Orkut and just aren't comfortable with it.
Although it is a Google affiliation, I don't think I would ever switch from using Facebook. Google is a trusted company that is always striving to go above and beyond, but their features just aren't appealing enough for me to switch.
I am a daily user of Orkut, actually it is very famous in India, especially amongst the teen agers. It is a good way to be connected with friends, and also it helps me to find new things about many things happening in the web. I found many of my old school friends on Orkut, and it is pretty easy to find too.
Well another purpose for my Orkut is to spread my business over many people, and frankly speaking 20% of my business clients comes from the promotion I do on Orkut. It is an effective way to advertise your service there. So,for me Orkut is not only a social network for me,but it is a very attractive free advertising tool also.
For sure this question will not help anyone in a heavy way, but it can be useful in somehow. In the beginning, all Orkut pages had the extension *. Aspx, but now all pages are "masqueraded" under a "Main#page.
Sorry if this "Main#" is a ASP feature, but it doesn't look like one to me. Does anyone know the language Orkut was coded?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
