Nope. I think the term "straight acting" isn't a helpful one, but I think the fact that more non-stereotypical gays are feeling comfortable enough to come out of the closet and live openly too is a great thing. I've been told by many people that they never suspected I was gay until I told them, and that I'm the straightest seeming gay guy they've met.
I doubt that's true, because I'm probably just the straightest seeming gay guy who has told them. But I've been comfortable with myself for years, and I'm not acting at all, nor do I harbor any self-hatred or oppression. And I'm in a great relationship and open about that too.
Gay people are just as diverse as everyone else, Justice.
Some gays do the straight acting so they won't get hurt in any form. All because of not be trully accepted it makes you think "i gotta live a certain way to have what I need even tho I aint happy with it. "i have a uncle that did it.
He told me if a woman is what makes me happy go for it. Don't do what he did. He led a ex wiffe on for 25 yrs then left her for a man.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
