Does anyone know if you deposit a large amount into an account, is it reported to the IRS?

The law requires you notify the IRS of cash deposits over $10,000 as others have stated. See: http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=148821,00.htmlHowever, a bank's internal computer systems may have a much lower threshhold and most have many proprietary ways of determing if you are attempting to circumvent the reporting requirement. They are required to report any suspicious activity to the IRS.

I was told by my bank a few years ago that they correlate even relatively small cash deposits over a period of time and track all individual cash deposits as low as $2,000. So, even if you were to deposit $10,000 at the ATM $1,000 at a time each week, it is almost guaranteed you will be investigated. And no, I will not tell you which bank I use!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
