Does anyone know why my brake lights won't turn off? I had to pull the fuse to make them go off?

In some cars there is a little plug that helps push the deactivationbutton "in" to deactivate the brake lights. If your car is missing this piece, i.e. It broke off, then your lights will stay on.

Just take a screw or bolt and put that in the hole at the top of the brake pedal. This will still give you brake lights to get to the store for the replacement part, or just leave the bolt in, and tighten it down with a nut on the other side. Cheap and easy fix.

My first suspicion would be that your brake pedal is not returning fully. Put a toe under it, and lift it towards you, and see if that turns the lights off. If so, you need to get that fixed, because it also means your brakes are probably dragging.

My second suspicion would be that the switch, which is usually depressed when you release the brake pedal, is misaligned. The third option is that the electronic light controller has failed, or there is a short in the wiring; either of which is annoying to find and fix.

When I had that problem, it was because the idiots who installed my trailer brake controller had stripped the wires at the brake light switch and left them exposed - they came into contact with each other, which turned the brake lights on.it could also be that the switch is misaligned, or there is an obstruction preventing your brake pedal from coming all the way up. (the last is something to check, as it would also cause the brakes to drag) TheLightWorks 60 months ago.

Yes. My brake light was on and I took it for service and they found both the tubes to the front brakes were bad. One had ruptured and the other was about to go.

Don't shoot the messenger. Get some service.

If you mean outside brake lights, there is a switch that turns them on when you brake and it can stick.

Sometimes it’s as simple as a misaligned brake switch.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
