Does Baseball commencing Spring Training bring a smile to your face? Who do you like in 2009 to win it all?

When the Red Sox head to Florida to start spring training hope around Boston and New England springs eternal as we try again to win another world series. How about you. Who is your team and why can they win it all?

Definitely...Pitchers and catchers report means spring is right around the corner... Baseball is easily my favorite sport. Unfortunately I am a Chicago Cubs fan so I do not know much about winning anything. The Cubs should definitely be one of the favorites in the NL again in 2009.

I think they could win the Central division by 10+ games this year. No real comptetition there right now and if anything most of the division has seemed to get worse this offseason. If we make the playoffs it would be nice to win a game or two...the past two seasons they have been swept out of the playoffs in the first round.

The Cubs are definitely solid all around this year. No glaring weaknesses. They solidified their lineup with the addition of Milton Bradley and it seems they still have some money to spend. It will be interesting to see what the new ownership group is like.

Definitely a defining year with the people up top changing. Hopefully it is a good thing...they have to be better than the Chicago Tribune...right? Well it has been 101 years since we have won a World Series...a bit before my time.

But as always spring brings hope and I will be rooting for them as usual. ChicagoTRS's Recommendations Chicago Cubs (Cubs Win!) 1 I'd like to see the Phillies win the World Series again. Odd as it may seem the Phillies remind me of the story The Little Engine that Could. The chug along totally underestimated by most but they do what needs to be done and it would be so great to see them do it again.

2 As an Atlanta Braves fan, I obviously want to see the Braves win it all. But, they won't. The glory days are past history.

Who would I like to see win it if it isn't the Braves? The Chicago Cubs. Yes, that's right, baseball's lovable losers who haven't been the Series in 100 years - its time.

Their long-suffering fans deserve a winner after all these years. If not the Cubs, the Houston Astros or Texas Rangers - only because they've never won anything although they haven't been around as long as the Cubbies.

Lyn~ replied to post #2: 3 For me if it isn't the Phillies I'd like to see The Chicago Cubs win it. Mostly for the reasons you state but also because I know some hard core Chicago White Sox fans I know it would annoy if the Cubs won. In Chicago you are either a White Sox or a Cubs fan; there is no grey area.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
