Whichever is last Child support goes until your child is 18 or graduates whichever is later. family.findlaw.com/child-support/support... Florida has the laws pretty well set up for exactly what you have to pay, check out these pages for more info... leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_m... dor.myflorida.com/dor/childsupport/pdf/p... If you are talking about if you have to pay for college... Florida Child Support Laws and gher Education Expenses "Absent a finding of physical or mental deficiencies, there is no legal duty to pay child support beyond the age of eighteen. Even though most parents willingly assist their adult children in obtaining a higher education, any duty to do so is a moral rather than a legal one, absent either a finding of legal dependence or a binding contractual agreement by the parent to pay such support." - From Carlton v.
Carlton, CASE NO. 2D01-893, COURT OF APPEAL OF FLORIDA, SECOND DISTRICT, May 17, 2002. For more information on how higher education expenses fit into your divorce, see this website.
Both have to be true I think it stops when both of those conditions are satisfied. If they graduate at 17, I think the support would continue until they are 18. If they are 18 and haven't graduated yet, I think the support would continue as well.
However, if the support is in arrears, I don't think it matters what age they are. It has to be paid off regardless of the child's age. I am in GA and my divorce decree said that the child support would continue until age 18 so long as the child had graduated.
If the child is over 18 and hasn't graduated, the support would continue at least until age 21 if the child is in school or working towards a GED. I would guess that FL is similar, but I don't know for certain. Try this website - leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_m... .
Mine is until my daughter is out of college It depends on the state. Most states have set formulas, but changes can be made in court. In my divorce agreement, I had it stipulated that my ex would continue to pay until my daughter was out of college.
Usually, you can change the mandates to extend the support. Prior to the change, it was until she turned 18, with the condition that it will continue until the end of high school. (her birthday is in February, he even said he needed to pay while she was still in school) However, if she drops out of high school the support ends at 18.
If she is failing out of college, the support ends. I also capped the amount of time in college to four years. The money that comes in after she’s out of my house and in college will go into a trust for her that she can use for tuition and college expenses while she is in school, the unused balance will not be available to her until she is at least 25.
I did ask for it to be extended until she graduated from college because I know my ex had no intention of trying to help with bigger things (medical bills, insurance, nothing outside of child support). I took him back to court for this because he drained her college fund, he also lied about funds he hid (we found the records, but he had already spent the money) and when he decided that we were over he was ok with leaving me with $13 dollars to my name, a stack of bills he ran up and a 2 year old daughter. He dropped her insurance, won’t pay for clothes, won’t pay any school fees, even requires that if she wants to go shopping whatever he buys for her must stay at his house or he won’t buy it, she only sees him 1 or 2 times a month.
He has very liberal visitation and I always have allowed "unplanned" visitation, but he never takes that opportunity to see her. He’s missing out on a wonderful girl. I still got the best deal, I got my daughter. My husband now would gladly adopt her if he ever wanted to terminate his parental rights.
For those who see this and think I just want to take him for every penny, I don’t, I’d rather not have his money and just have him out of out lives. Also, the court mandated amount is not what I finally agreed to for support, I took a lower amount because I do feel that sometimes the state formulas are very out of whack. Sources: my own experience .
It depends on the court order in some cases it could be ordered until the child graduates from college.
It depends. It depends on what the divorce decree states or state law may provide the answer. Ask your attorney that represented you for the divorce, this should be a no-cost answer.. Ask someone in child support office, usually a county office.
I am not from FL. , but this is the best I can do. At least you have somewhat of an answer or direction to find the answer..
At what age does child support end the child is not in school and is seventeen years old.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
