Does Engineering News-Record publish data on construction costs?

Yes. ENR has been collecting and publishing price data on 75 different building materials, in 20 major U.S. cities, plus Montreal and Toronto, on a monthly basis for over 50 years. We publish a table of cement and concrete and aggregate prices in our first weekly issue every month, pipe prices the second week, lumber and drywall prices the third week, and steel prices the fourth week.

We use a small amount of this data to create two index numbers each month, the Construction Cost Index and the Building Cost Index. The indexes are widely-used benchmarks for measuring inflation. More information about our cost data can be found by clicking here.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
