Yes kontera does show ads by kontera. These are hover based ads so when you hover over keyword it open small javascript based dialog over that hovered keyword and will show advertisers ad+kontera sign. They are not as worthy as adsense or yahoo ads but for some blogs they work fine if they have large pageviews.

Kontera ads are contextual ads,which means some words in the body of your text will be double underlined they have nothing to do with google ads. Sometimes kontera cant find any ads to place so none will be visible.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
