Does repent mean ask for forgiveness or does it mean to turn away?

To me, the best application of repent is to turn away from whatever you are following, towards God way. A lot of Christians make it all about feeling sorry for something they did, with all kinds of feelings attached. And that might be true, but really I find the more important definition of repent is to turn to God.

Trust him instead of whatever else there is to trust in.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
