Does the R&TTE Directive apply to maritime radio equipment?

Only Radio equipment on board vessels which are not covered by IMO regulations (SOLAS) falls within the scope of the R&TTE Directive, i.e. Equipment on inland waterway vessels and a large number of sea vessels. The Community is considering applying additional essential requirements for this kind of radio equipment.

Some people argue, that it would be better to cover these types of equipment by extending the marine Directive (96/98/EC). More.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
