I hate watching television - for exactly the reason you state, ibstubro. My husband watches the news every night but if it was up to me I'd shut the darn thing off and get my news from the Internet. I also hate the commercials which are pushed to the limit of viewer patience - about seven - sometimes more!.
I feel smarter, I don't pay for ad upon ad that I don't want to see, and I have time for other things, like wasting time on AV! .

2 I can't sit through a movie any more. I am glad they make tapes/DVD's so I can move around alittle. I don't like the ads on TV...some shows have too many ads and hardly any show...same with URL1 makes a person miss out on life....always hoping something good will be on.
TV is geared toward people more than schools...but right now there is little on TV that interests me.

Ibstubro replied to post #1: 3 I've been TV-less over 10 years as well. WHAT is up with putting them in restaurants? Even the local fast food joint has one.
They need MORE noise? They want people to sit at the tables LONGER? .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
