Some friends of mine who breed terriers have had great success holding a halved cabbage to the affected area. Apparently a breeding mentor told them about it, and its miraculous. Some organic compounds and the moisture released by the cabbage reduce swelling and will often cause the teat to release.
Its always worth a try, since it can't do any more harm.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
