SPINAL TAP! So ’Christopher Guest’ movies are mine & my husband’s favorites, by FAR! How do you pick just one?
Start with the classic by which all others are judged by: This Is Spinal Tap! Directed by Rob Reiner & ad-libbed by nearly everyone in the cast. The cast of characters is enoromously funny & talented...Fran Drescher, Bruno Kirby & Billy Crystal’s ad-libs are some of the best additions to this Mockumentary on the Rock group profession.
The details are what make it a classic, the herpes mouth sores, the tantrums, the blatant stupidity and the highly quotable lines! Here are some fantastically funny quotes from the movie: "Most amps go to ten...It’s one louder! " spinaltapfan.com/spinal-tap-sounds.html Or, In regards to the balck album (take off of the Beatles White Album) "The answer is, None.
None more black" spinaltapfan.com/spinal-tap-sounds.html How many drummers have they gone through? 3 so far...one died from a 'bizzarre gardening accident", the next choked on vomit (his own? One may never know), and the 3rd spontaneously combusted during a gig...only a small green 'globule' was left behind!
The 'fake' band became so popular in its cult following that it's played real gigs & released some CD's! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinal_Tap_%28band%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_Spinal_Tap Thanks for the GREAT question, Dale! Sources: I LOVE CULT CLASSICS!
Video "This amplifier has air bags"...Christopher Guest's VW ad doing his classic Nigel Tufnel act...Such a CULT audience that this just was made last year...even though the flick's from 1984! The commercial was an instant CLASSIC! HILARIOUS! .
UHF" starring Weird Al, and "Head" starring the Monkees "UHF" is a campy, low-budget, high-laughs pic starring Weird Al and an assortment of popular celebrities before they were famous (Fran Drescher, Michael Richards, Victoria Jackson). You need to be in a goofy, slapstick mood to appreciate this film. But if you're still a kid at heart, make yourself a Twinkie-Weiner with Cheese and rent this gem pronto."Head" is very different.
It's a psychadelic freak-out film starring the Monkees (the 60's pop band). On the surface this movie is terrible. There's no cohesive plot, and no real acting or script.
In fact the rumor is that this film was made by the Monkees as a means to get out of their contract. They WANTED it to bomb. And bomb it did!
Interesting side note, it was partially written by and features Jack Nicholson (before he was really big). Armed with that knowledge though, what a trip this movie is. Everyone should experience it once (preferably not sober).

Hmmm, this could be a toughie These are movies that I think should be in every movie collection: 1. Boondock Saints- Easily the best movie ever. I love the cinematography.(I think I spelled that wrong) 2.
Pulp Fiction- I like the story line in Fight Club too, they make you think and keep you on your toes 3. Fight Club- See above 4. Braveheart- Does this need an explaniation?5.
We were Soldiers- Again is an explaniation really needed?6. Indiana Jones - All three of them - These movies were funny, well done, and action packed!7. Star Wars - 4, 5, 6 - These were so far ahead of their time, and remain completely entertaining today!
8. Matrix- AWESOME special effects.9. Lion King- This was just an awesome movie even if it was a cartoon. I enjoyed it very much.
I know there are plenty more that I will think of right after I submit it. But at least this is a start..
Harold and Maude---great philosophy of life, Eating Rauol----black comedy, Christine---thriller .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
