When I was 15 I was driving down the road illegally because my mom let me borrow her car even though I was underage to go to the bank at about 11PM. I was jamming to a song and stopped at a red light when a cop pulled up next to me and motioned for me to roll down the window. He said ... "What song are you singing?!
" all happily and friendly... it was so strange.. then said, "Well, have a good night!" after I answered him...Ever get away when you should have been in a bit of trouble? Other stories I have just can't be relayed on Askville, but I'd be curious to hear what others may share. :) Asked by Enlia 48 months ago Similar questions: authorities committing crime Politics & Law > Crime.
Here is one story...underage drinking... I was in the military stationed in san francisco in the late 80s. I was 18 at the time...maybe 19...the drinking age was 21 in the military base club but you could still get in the club at 18 years old...you were just not supposed to drink alcohol. Well there was a restaurant in the club and me and a friend who was also the same age was sitting eating dinner.
I go up to the bar and get a pitcher of beer and a couple glasses and bring it back to our table. We are both sitting there drinking a beer enjoying our meal. An MP comes up to our table..."I saw you go up to the bar and buy that pitcher"...I am thinking dang I am busted..."you know you can get in a lot of trouble for buying beer for an underage person (pointing to my friend)"..."I do not want to see him drink any more...you finish the pitcher yourself"..."I will be keeping an eye on you!"... lol...after he left I could not stop laughing and making fun of my friend...I preceeded to finish the pitcher of beer myself.
I always thought it was kind of ridiculous I could join the military...go to war...die for my country at 18...but could not enjoy a beer until I was 21.
