Excel distinct count with conditions?

Heres an alternative that doesn't rely on unique items in column A being consecutive.

If I'm understanding correctly, you want a count of unique entries in column 'A' where column 'I' equals 3.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
