Excel vba - how to test if sheet exists?

Some folk dislike this approach because of an "inappropriate" use of error handling, but I think it's considered acceptable in VBA... An alternative approach is to loop though all the sheets until you find a match.

An alternative approach is to loop though all the sheets until you find a match. Function SheetExists(shtName As String, Optional wb As Workbook) As Boolean Dim sht As Worksheet If wb Is Nothing Then Set wb = ThisWorkbook On Error Resume Next Set sht = wb. Sheets(shtName) On Error GoTo 0 SheetExists = Not sht Is Nothing End Function.

Entirely approriate use IMO. It's a trap for a thing that is posited as existing and doesn't and has a long history - cf perl strict, STAE etc. Upvoted – Wudang Oct 18 at 8:37.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
