The Kingdom Under Fire series. You pick a general and pick several platoons of troops to command. The troops classes vary from Knights, to Archers, Cavalry, and some fantasy units like Golems and "Swamp Mammoths."
You then take to the battlefield and command your troops on the battlefield telling them where to go and what to do. You can command your archers to bombard an arrow with flaming arrows causing the whole area to become engulfed in flames. Paladins had healing abilities and buffs and stuff like that.
When you engaged an enemy while controlling your general's unit you get to play as your general and smash some skulls in to the sound of a thrash metal soundtrack. The game is pretty epic. Check out the trailer for the new game coming out, it is super epic.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
