Food processor or food chopper?

I'm wanting to having something on-hand for quick dicing/chopping. I'm still learning the ropes in my own kitchen and would like something I'm going to get use out of down the road when I learn more. Food chopper-no power needed, small profile & cheaper. Clean up is easy. Have some band-aid just in case ;-) For everyday simple chopping this this the way to go.

Also cleaning up is super easy, especially if you are chopping several items (such as onion, carrots, garlic etc...) Its smaller and cheaper and no need to search for an electrical outlet. Safe enough to have preteen to use, with supervision. I always end up using the food chopper versus the food processor.

But the best tool for me is a knife. Spend sometime learning hoe to use a knife and you won't need all of those gadgets. Good luck.

Mini food processor wins over handheld chopper everytime. You definitely don't want a hand held chopper, they're cheap, they break easily, they don't work very well, and the end result is unevenly chopped food. I have had both.

The chopper cracked and split up the side on the 2nd use. My mini processor on the other hand is alive and well and does the job it was designed for. Depends on Use and Prefernce. If you're primarily chopping garlic, shallots, and onions then a small food processor will work well. The small food processor is great if you're going to be using a lot of any of these three.

I've found that it doesn't work well with peppers, raw potatoes, and carrots. In these cases a food chopper is preferable. Though if you're going to be chopping any of these items in small quantities (a few cloves of garlic, one onion, a pepper, or a carrot) use just a knife and cutting board. It's cheaper, just as fast in small quantites, and much more precise.

Be advised though that if you go with the cutting board to keep that knife as sharp as possible. Most medical issues that result in knife use are due to a dull blade..

Get the chopper if you're only going to get one. I have both, and I use them for different jobs, but I use the chopper much more often. The chopper can handle most jobs quickly and easily, and it cleans up easily as well.

You can just make a couple passes through something for a rough chop, or if you need something more finely chopped, you can make several passes through the food. Mine is the one from Pampered Chef, and I love it, but you can get them anywhere. The PC one is probably more expensive, but I’ve had mine for more than 12 years now, and it still works great, and it has been used a LOT.

I got my mini-food processor as a gift, and I hardly ever use it. For most jobs that I actually need a food processor, I usually just use my full-size food processor. If a job is small enough for the mini food processor, most of the time, I’ll just grab my chopper because it’s easier to use.My advice - get the chopper now and get a full-size food processor sometime down the line if you still want a food processor.

The very best food processor is a good sharp knife, technique and practice. It can do any chopping job and cleanup is a breeze. But it's not a cheap investment and you do have to learn how to keep it sharp.

Food choppers give you inconsistent results and food processors can over process. Both can be a pain to clean up. Where can I get parts for the DLC 8F food processor.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
