And those "endless" foods always seem to be carbs. I love vegetables, fruit and meat, but I will feel satisfied with a small serving, whereas I can eat my weight in yeast rolls, coffee cake, baked potatoes...is this addiction or something else? There is a theory for this... ...and it is that our brains can detect "nutrient dense" foods, and recognize them as providing the nourishment our bodies need to survive. Nutrient-dense foods have a high nutrient/calorie ratio, meaning they are rich in nutrients when compared to their calorie content. "Nutrient empty" foods would not send this same signal to our brains, and since the brain "knows" what it needs to survive, it remains hungry for nutrients - which were lacking in the foods eaten.
If this theory is correct, it supports what you are saying, and you could eat those foods all day long and your brain would still be telling you to eat: to get vital nutrients. Some people do refer to that constant hunger as an "addiction. FIBER! A big source of filling full is how much fiber you are getting in those meals...Vegetables and fruit will have a good deal of fiber in it, that will make you fill more full...it also depends on how proccessed the food is...i.e. Eating a raw carrot vs. drinking carrot juice.
If your body has to digest the food longer you will feel more full longer...
Food I think protein fills your stomach and makes you feel full longer. But for me, carbohydrates. I can eat endless amounts, fill up and to some degree feel satisfied.
But about 2 hours latter I am circling the kitchen and in no time I am grazing on anything I can get my hands on. Not a pretty situation for me. If I want to maintain or loose weight I must eat protein.
I don't particularly like it and must remind myself to do it.
1 I'm not too crazy about yeast products. It drives my husband crazy. I love to bake.
I just won't eat the cakes or breads I make.

2 Simple carbs tend to grab everyone. When I had to stop eating wheat, I quickly lost 20 pounds because there was suddenly nothing I felt like overeating (except for Peanut M&M's, that is). Pasta, bread, baked goodies... I see people indulge in these long after they're full.It has a lot to do with insulin production and the way your body processes the sugars, but it probably has something to do with the production of certain "feel good" neurotransmitters, too.
I'm sure some smart Askvillian will give us the exact scientific reason behind it all. :-) .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
