San Antonio is by far the best for variety and meeting people. Bozeman will be better for skiing and wintersports. The winter sports are not available in San Antonio, but you can golf year round.

All the sports there can be done year round, you will have a few days that it might be too cold too jog or golf. In the summer time occasionally it will be too humid and you won't want to be outside. Good luck on your decision.

Bozeman is a dry climate, San Antonio a humid one. Your opportunity to meet others will be greater in San Antonio, plus people are friendlier in TX. Montana has great people, it is harder to get acquainted with them.

It depends on whether you like wilderness type activities (MT) or social activities that are outside (TX). Bozeman is a wonderful town for "rugged" outdoor activity, like camping, hiking, horseback riding, skiing, hunting or fishing, but not really so great for social interaction. Beautiful mountains and forests are within easy reach.

On the other hand, there really aren't a whole lot of people around. The city itself has under 30,000 people, and there are less than a million in the whole state. For a city its size, it does have a very nicely developed art scene and Montana State University is there, so it's got a bit of that quirkiness to it that a lot of college towns seem to have.

Yellowstone is nearby, which is great to visit, but I personally wouldn't consider that a real reason for moving there. San Antonio has more people than the entire state of Montana. It has a lot more opportunity for things like team sports, tennis, golf, and so forth.

There are certainly areas around where you can go camping, river rafting, and the like, but they seemed to me to be much more "disneyland" type things: I didn't seem to find many areas where I could actually get more than a mile away from people, and a lot of the lakes, rivers, and so forth are pretty jammed on the weekends. Being a larger metro area, there are certainly more opportunities for non-outdoor activities, also, with more concerts, sporting events, and similar kinds of events. And if you're looking for friends, people with whom to enjoy activities, or romantic interests, you're obviously going to find a lot more choices in a city of 1.3 million people than you will in a state of 900,000..

Well, I wouldn't pick Bozeman myself, but let's explore your options I live in Louisviile, KY, but work all over. I recently spent a week in both of those towns. Let me give you my impression of them.

I didn't see San Antonio as much of an outdoorsy town - perhaps because the week I was there it was summer and rather hot. The area around SA has some "programmed" outdoor thins like the Spanish Trail or the Caverns or the Natural Bridge ranch, but it it really an indoor town - the Riverwalk, the Buckhorn and all the places there. SA's nice for a single guy because there are a zillion single women there, working, doing Postdoc, getting out of the Army - it's great for that.

But I don't think it is an outdoor haven at all. Bozeman, on the othere hand, is great for the outdoors. Less than an hour in any direction is any kind of outdoor thing you would ever want, except a beach.

You can hike, ride horses, climb mountains, ski, camp, hunt - whatever. But it is not exactly a chick magnet. When I was there, going to have a drink at night in the few places - other than the college places, where girls would be too young for you - there weren't a lot of alone women I noticed.So, If I were mostly thinking outdoors, I would choose Bozeman, if I were mostly remembering single, I'd think SA.

It all depends on whether you like cold weather and like to spend your outdoors time with a lady. Obviously, if you are in to winter sports, Montana has a lot more to offer than anywhere in Texas. But on the other hand, there are a lot more people--and therefore, logically, a lot more available women--in Texas than there will be in Montana.It really depnds on what you like to do the most?
