Whether or not they actually did everything they were meant to do No two Christians can agree on what we're meant to do. Then, when you do follow the directions one of them gives and it doesn't work, they suddenly change the method. - "Oh, you have to keep praying for a month" - "Wait, I meant two months" - "Actually, you have to also attend church every Sunday during that period" - "No, my church, not any other" - "Didn't work?
Did you remember to fast? Oh, I didn't mention that one? My bad" - "No, you have to be REALLY sincere.
Try again" - "Oh, you had a beer? That means you have to start all over" Etc, etc, ad infinitum. There's always some excuse for why the infallible method failed.
Also, maybe I'm just going blind here, but... I can't find where you gave those "explicit instructions." Seems a rather important bit to leave out. EDIT: OK, I found the list in your other question, but I have a problem: "8.
Did they ever perform any Miracles or Healings?" That one rules gives you a universal out: Anyone who hasn't performed a miracle hasn't properly followed the method and you can therefore disregard their opinion. Very clever.
And very dishonest. ... Actually, no, not very clever at all. But still definitely dishonest.
Do Atheists believe, that to verify whether or not God Exists it is not necessary to follow his explicit instructions for making contact with Him?" Well technically, we don't believe he exists to have given any instructions. I am not sure what 'explicit instructions' you mean, but if it is all the stuff about asking him to come into my heart, then I did try that, and nothing happened.
I do not think that God should have left any scientific evidence for his existence, but Jesus says that prayers will be answered, and there is no evidence to suggest that they are, so by "God's" own criteria, he does not exist. "Is that what makes an Atheist? The inability to think beyond one's personal desires, such that if they must be fulfilled the way one wants, exactly as one wants, and never mind the consequences to other people?"
No.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
