I'd think you're right, Doubleminaz. Plenty of more "obvious" domain names are already taken, in more popular topics. I noticed it too, and I noticed that some topics which the internet is already more flooded with had been given the more unusual domain names, such as healthqna.
If you type in the most simple domain name you can think of in your browser, it will be already taken. Whereas topics that you don't see so many "question and answer sites" in relation to had managed to get a more obvious, simple-to-use domain name. There certainly are plenty of domain names that have already been taken by other ... *cough lowquality cough*... search or advertising or directory websites.
I've found plenty of these the last few days while trying to navigate to the sister sites. The links to the sister sites in my profile aren't working, so I'm often having to find them manually at the moment.
I noted that, too, wy (and jokingly pointed it out). I'm guessing that either the url's were taken, or they thought it sounded better. I hope someone in the know answers.
" "I notice a list of "sponsored links" on the topic pages here at Askville. How do I add a sponsored link? " "Is this an appropriate question for Askville?
" "What question do you wish someone would ask on Askville?" "Favorite new Askville Question Topic? Pick one..." "Rocketeer Question- Guys I just received a gift from Askville? Did you get one too from Askville?
I am OFF TOPIC! " "Which topic would you want your askville name to be associated with?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
