2 Nothing. I stuck around the academic community and never left the campus.
3 Considering that I went to school full time while working full time, the biggest change after graduation was all the free time. :) .
4 School and Job have absolutely NOTHING to do with one another. Among the differences, all of which are "notable":1) College classes are in two-hour blocks, at various points throughout the day, often with hour-or-more breaks in between, often with different day-dependant schedules. Work is from 7:30am-4pm, Monday-Friday.2) College is spent getting into debt.
Work is what gets you out of debt.3) When I screwed up on a homework assignments, I generally have only myself to blame and only cause damage to my own grades or chances to graduate. If I screw up at work, it may be my fault or it may be the fault of my coworkers upstream, many of whom I've never met. My screwups affect not only me, but my coworkers, my boss, and our clients.4) In school, if I don't know the answer, the professor or TA does, and can help me understand. At work, if I don't know the answer, there's no guarantee that someone else does.
I'm on my own to figure it out.5) Working during "business hours" means it's harder to do every day things like go to the bank, go to the post office, etc, that can be done any time during the day while in college.6) If you completely fail assignments at school, you can generally retake the course next semester. If you massively fail at work, you get fired..
I have a friend - his daughter is going to an out of state private school. She'll probably finish up with 100k in loans. And her degree is going to be in ... Choir.
She thinks she'll be able to get a job as a choir director, as if that will ever pay enough to pay off her loans.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
