Founding Fathers anti-Christianity?

It's a simple matter of historical record, but revisionists have worked hard to distort the truth about American history. That said, to understand the "Christianity" of our individual Founding Fathers we need to compare what they wrote with the Bible's definition of what a Christian is. In doing so we find that not all of our Founding Fathers were devout Christians, but all did have an understanding of the fact that Bible principles are for the good of mankind.

They recognized that Christian values promoted stable families and communities, and were for the well-being of all peoples. The Christian values of men like Abraham Lincoln broke the practice of slavery in our country, for instance, (the same is true of men like Wilberforce in England), as well as established a legal system that had the potential to continuing developing for the benefit of this country's citizens. Sadly, instead of continuing to develop our country from a foundation of Christian values, this nation has steadily moved away from those values.

There seems to be a group of people in America who are anti-christian for political reasons. I can understand that. Seeing how so many so-called christians are not really what they claim to be.

Unfortunately the prejudice against those who are true christians are paying the price for the sins of those who are wolves in sheeps clothing. Those who voted based on their perception of some politicians claims to christanity when they are just the opposite. Some founding fathers were believers in a god but not religion.

They tolerated religion. Lawyers,unfortunately are really in con-trol of our government. I know Lincoln was a lawyer ,but he was one of the few exceptions.

Since there was no model for a proper republic or democratic government at the time, our founders had little to go off of sans the Bible. Of course, this is not all-inclusive. I urge you to read "The Age of Reason" by Thomas Paine (author of Common Sense) which has been deemed the single greatest assault against Christianity.

We cannot overlook the fact that these rebellious individuals realized the corruption taking place at the time when the Catholic Church reigned supreme in many governments.

Not only were out founding fathers believes, but in 1892 the Supreme Court decided that America 'is a Christian nation'. All you have to do is yahoo/google 'this is a Christian nation' and there is a link that will take you right to the supreme court case. In a nutshell it says that without Jesus America could not have been founded or prospered.

The main reason why are kids/grandkids/ have no knowledge of this is the liberals in the school trying their best to limit the depth of this fact. Now why was there slavery - simply stated - our founding fathers were a product of their times.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
