Yes Ed is still looking to get back Al's body in Brotherhood. Anyways I like both for different reasons. Brotherhood is the original intended story and is about persevering.
FMA is great non canon story that is about consequences. I'll talk about FMA without spoiling much since others will probably talk about Brotherhood. What I love about FMA is that its not the typical "everything works out" shonen.
These kids are playing god and trying to fight on their own terms so naturally bad things happen to them. No matter what their intentions are or how hard they fight the world doesn't bow to their whims. It's a tough life lesson we all have to learn and one that most shonen animes/manga ignore.
I also like how the homunculus were created much more than in Brotherhood. There is much more emotion involved and you feel for them beyond just how cool they are. FMA is also just a more emotionally dramatic anime overall when compared to Brotherhood.
Others may find it depressing but I find it to be a nice relief in a genre ridden with unrealistic expectations and conclusions. What I dislike about FMA is umm well nothing actually. BONES made a kick *** anime without using the manga and thats really hard to do.
The music is amazing, the animation is great and the acting is fantastic. Brotherhood I guess is more epic and large scale while FMA is more realistic in it's delivery so I can understand why Brotherhood is preferred more. Still I don't care how others feel now, FMA was and still is a great well crafted story whether Arakawa created it or not.
Sorry for the wall of text I just really like talking about the FMA series (Brotherhood including) in general. The whole thing is just so amazing and well done, I love it all!
I liked Brotherhood a lot better just because the end was more satisfying. The regular FMA was really good too though. It made me sad though :( But at the end of Brotherhood I was still a little sad for a certain reason(can't say why XD) but it's wrapped up beautifully!
And yes, Brotherhood is a little more epic to me ;).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
