GAMERS POLL: Will you be getting a Ps4 or an Xbox One this year?

Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance journalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. Get it now!

I am getting the PS4 first. It is the slightly more powerful machine and more RAM is dedicated to games since theres not as much background processes as Xbox One. Also its $100 (£80) cheaper than Xbox One.

On top of that, whilst Xbox One has more exclusives a lot of them look really rubbish, take Ryse: Son Of Rome for instance, just a game full of quick time events and so scripted its unreal and Dead Rising 3 looks no where near as fun as the previous two. Meanwhile the exclusives on PS4 look a lot more interesting such as Infamous Second Son and The Order 1866 (I believe its an exclusive anyway). Also, whilst PS4 does have DRM policies they are not completely compulsory.

In Xbox One there is DRM no matter what, in PS4 it is up to the publishers to decide and its unlikely they would implement massive DRM since the PR disaster from Microsoft and the Xbox One. Furthermore, PS4 fully supports pre-owned games and the used game market and games can be sold, lended and traded in at will which I believe is all part of the console experience and part of the social aspect of consoles. Also if you plan to take your console to areas where there is no internet connection or a poor one PS4 requires no internet at all to play games on singleplayer mode, unlike Xbox One.

Xbox One requires an internet check every 24 hours and every single hour when playing a game, single or multiplayer. If you miss these checks your Xbox One cannot play games at all and basically becomes an expensive brick. The PS4 on the other hand works absolutely fine with no internet.

Then theres backwards compatibility. Xbox One has none what so ever, rendering your 360 and Xbox Original titles useless without those consoles. Whilst PS4 is inherently not backwards compatible, Sony plan to make it so through the Gaikai streaming system meaning you can stream older games dating back to the PS1 days.

Finally, yes you do have to pay for PlayStation Plus to play online now, but Sony have stated that this is for legitimate reasons such as the whole internet server thing costs a lot of money (which it does) but they have said that they hope to continue all the benefits of Plus such as the discounts, free games etc. However if you just want singleplayer games and the multimedia access, the free version of Playstation Online allows you to use things like Netflix and Unlimited TV/Music for absolutely free. Xbox One also has a paid subscription for Xbox Live, however it is unlikely there will be any benefits such as free games and discounts on the Xbox One via Live as they never did so on Xbox 360, on 360 games that are 6 years old are still full price on their store. Also you have to pay for Xbox Live to access the multimedia things such as Netflix.

Just to point out I am not a PlayStation Fanboy, I have both 360 and PS3 and plan to, at some point own both Xbox One and PS4. All of this information is fact with some slight intelligent guessing and I got it all from the E3 Sony Conference and various gaming news sites and interviews.

I'm with you! I am getting the Xbox One first, and probably a PS4 later. I think Microsoft will set some awesome trends with their console as developers learn how to use all the nuances correctly.

Looking at the specs, I firmly believe that the PS4 may have a small edge over the One in terms of power. That said, I do not believe it will be so noticeable as to warrant a purchase decision out-right. This is all my opinion of course.

My Pros for X1 1) Achievements/Gamerscore (I absolutely love collecting them. Trophies on the PS are pretty cool too.) 2) Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 (Games both look amazing) 3) TwitchTV streaming * 4) Cloud-Computing offering new possibilities * 5) I personally find the Xbox controller much more comfortable than the Dualshock. 6) Family Group Game Sharing!

Link in sources 7) Able to use External HDD's to increase capacity 8) 64 player Battlefield 4? Yes please! * 9) Friends are upgrading to X1 CONS 1) $100.00 more 2) Massive confusion over certain features stemming from incompetent PR staff 3) "21 Country Support" (Confusing and currently seems quite rude to all their faithful customers around the world) I know a lot of my pros are replicated on the PS4.

I think the PS4 will be a great console, with great games, but my personal preference is the One.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
