I'm three weeks post-RNY gastric bypass, and there are a lot of ups and downs as a patient. So far, I'm down 26 pounds, which I would never have been able to do on my own. I'm already having a reduction in my obesity comorbidities (obstructive sleep apnea and COPD).

The weight comes off fast, but you must be very disciplined. It's difficult to get used to eating 2 ounces at a time. If you have one or two bites too much, you will vomit.

You must be vigilant to drink water all day long (except 30 minute prior to eating, and 30 minutes after) or you will be at risk of dehydration. You must take your multivitamins, calcium citrate, and B-12 religiously. If you would like to read more about my experience, I have a gastric bypass surgery blog www.beautyandthebypass.com.
