20 years, not so much difference. But 40 years ago, the difference was like night and day Things gay people endure today, have little comparison to anything gays had to endure back then. If they went to a gay nightclub, it was often raided, they were degraded by being paraded to the media, then imprisoned, their names being publicly exposed.
It was hell on earth. The police were known to break down the doors of gays homes, on simple suspicion of there being gay sex practiced, in order to entrap them in compromising situations, even though it was consensual between the residents.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
