Glasses or Contact lenses, which do you prefer to wear and why?

I've been wearing glasses since I was in the third grade. I tried contact lenses once many years ago when they were made of hard plastic. They irritated my eyes and popped out unexpectedly every once in a while.

I gave them up after a couple of months and have never looked back. At a family gathering several years ago I asked a second cousin who is a professor of ophthalmology at a medical school why he was wearing glasses rather than contacts or having lasek surgery. He replied without hesitation as follows: "I get correction to 20-20 with glasses.

The safety lenses protect my eyes from flying objects. There is a certain amount of risk of complications from contact lenses (infection) and from laser surgery. I see no reason to accept these risks." (I did a popular Hub on this topic entitled "Lasik Surgery, Lasek Surgery, Contact Lenses or Prescription Glasses?

I have both glasses and contacts but I definitely prefer to wear my contacts. I wear gas permeable contact lenses which are similar to hard contacts. I've tried soft lenses but the gas permeables give me much better vision.

Since I only wear my glasses in the evening or early morning for a short time, they tend to annoy me when I have them on.

Definitely contact lenses. They don't fog up, don't get in your way and don't get dirty like glasses. It seems I'm always cleaning my glasses when I wear them, which is pretty annoying for me.

And it's pretty easy to get used to wearing contact lenses. For the first few times, it's tough to get them in but then, pretty soon, you're popping them in like nothing.

Glasses. I own a very light pair, so I don't even know I'm wearing them, other than the fact that I can see well.

For me I would prefer to chose glasses than to wear contact lenses in my eyes. Glasses are safe and make me comfortable. I don't want to use contact lens because I'm afraid what might happen if I place not properly in the eyes.

I know certain step should apply in putting contact lens in our eyes. Glasses are the safest and fastest to use anywhere anytime of the day. I had my glasses right now with 25-25 vision.

Now I can easy to manage all my work upon wearing this. Nice hubs to read!

Basically it's a choice between less maintenance and more maintenance. Glasses, by default, require less maintenance then contact lenses since they don't directly contact the cornea of your eyes, unlike contact lenses. If you don't like how you look in glasses you shouldn't just jump to contacts straight off.

Some people's eyes get irritated more easily, so if you can, check with your doctor. He'll be able to best guide you on your choice. Even with that in mind, modern contact lenses, if properly maintained, are not likely to cause you any problems, but be careful nonetheless.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
