Verbal* Actually I have to disagree. Skyrim is not the best RPG on the market, however it is the best RPG for casual gamers as it isn't really that complicated to get into. While I absolutely loved Skyrim, in hindsight I can now see all the flaws it has and my opinion of it has declined.
(Initially I gave it a 9 out of 10, but now it's just an 8.)? * WOW, really?! 5 years ago I would have agreed but, in my opinion, I would imagine that Guild Wars 2 is the current MMORPG of choice.
Dishonored could have been a better if it had been done as a complete open world, rather than the chapter (level) by chapter format. A real shame. A good game that could have been so much better.
It almost feels like they cut a large chunk out of the game as it feels incomplete, it least to me. A real shame that its true potential wasn't reached. I have hopes that the sequel will learn and improve.
Again, a good game worthy of purchase, but best to go at it without any high expectations. Back to the question at hand:- The only other games that are truly like Skyrim are other titles that were made by Bethesda. Very few other companies have made anything that comes close.
Gearbox have made an excellent attempt, but taken a slightly different approach. Sandbox, or semi-sandbox, games to try: - Fallout 3 - Fallout New Vegas - Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - Dishonored - Borderlands 1 & 2 - Dragon'S Dogma - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Dark Souls (Be warned not for the faint of heart, a hard and challenging game.) - Dead Rsing 1 & 2 - Mercenaries 2 - Fable 2 & 3 - Saints Row 2 & 3 (1 too but I won't recomend it) - GTA 4 - Mafia 2.
Fallout 3 is Skyrim but better. Well, that's just my opinion, I personally prefer the atmosphere and premise of F3 more, but both are great games. Fallout 3 is a little earlier though (2008), so the graphics aren't as nice and the animations a little jittery.
But if you can look past that, you'll find an amazing game. If you really want to sink low, you could play Mass Effect. It's like an interactive movie, with some great writing.
But god is the gameplay bad.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
