No. Even with regular requests to your app, the 30 second limit only applies to time your application spends processing requests. The timer does not include time the server takes to receive the request nor time spent sending the response back to the user.

Actually, I don't think that fully addresses the real intent of the question. Please take a look at the following article for more detail on uploading data to GAE. readwriteweb.com/cloud/2010/11/13-reason... Evidently, the timeout may interfere with data uploads and scheduled cron jobs as well.

Even if the timeout doesn't include the receipt or response, the net effect is the same if one is attempting to populate data in bulk. If it takes the engine more than 30 seconds to complete the task, the import will fail.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
