Got a letter from my ISP about Torrent downloads?

Ok here is what most likely happened. When torrenting, you are automatically put in the swarm when a torrent starts. You don't leave the swarm until you stop the torrent, either before or after it finishes.

You are still in the swarm when seeding. Movie companies pay other companies to monitor their movies with special software that allows them to record the IP addresses in the swarm. They then use the IP to find the ISP who then forwards the message to you.

Being that it was a new movie still in theaters, this seems very likely, as they often monitor newer movies. To stop them from sending you a letter or contacting you, use a VPN or proxy, or get on some private torrent sites. If you use public sites like TPB, limit your time in the swarm.

Also since they stated they will be looking at you closer for awhile, I would say to severely decrease the amount you download.

Read 4chan's Torrenting gif. It may have something in it. Also, if you want to stop that crap, you can tell them, "Oh, alrighty.

Can I have the number of someone I can talk to about cancelling your service? Also, if you have (one of your ISP's competitor's names)'s number handy, could you give me that, too?" 750 Torrents? Are you that guy I pray to?

Btw, it's not good practice to pirate brand new stuff, especially movies.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
