I imagine it's pretty standard lunch special fare. Hot and sour soup, an egg roll, rice, your entree, hot tea, water. Your bill arrives with orange segments and a fortune cookie.

Your basic broth with noodles, veggies and some very thinly sliced pork chops (about 1/4" thick) lightly floured and 5 spiced, flash fried and placed on top of the soup bowl. Very yummy. Ask about the Hunan Chicken - White meat, sauteed with cabbage and leeks in the chef's hot sauce.

I routinely get the negative head wag. "No, don't get that. " The decor is very pleasant and understated.

Various aquariums and fish tanks hint that seafood is the specialty of the house and the big dollar items such as lobster, local crab and langoustines are alive until you order them. The outside garden area is wonderful on a warm summer night or an overcast winter day. Plenty of shade and gas heaters make this a very versatile and enchanting seating area all year round.

Customer service is what really sets this place apart for me. Service is snappy but one doesn't feel rushed. You don't like a particular ingredient?

Hunan Home (MV) Chef Chu's is unpreposessing from the outside, but it has some of the best food anywhere and parking is plentiful. Try their prawns with candied nuts. Wow!

And their beef strips rolled in black pepper are great! The Lemon Chicken is a favorite. Larry Chu is a celebrity chef in this area, and there are pictures on the walls of the many celebrities who have eaten there.Su Hong is good.

Ming's is where we used to go for fancy atmosphere and wedding parties. Very good food. Hunan home on El Camino in Mtn.

View has unusual dishes. There are many others that I don't even know about, I'm sure. If you like Indian food, Amber India in Mtn View on El Camino is the best around.

It's another place plain from the outside, but, oh, their butter chicken! They have good food to go at the Amber Cafe, too, also in Mtn View on El Camino. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
