Has anyone ever ordered a book from Amazon and paid for overnight delivery?

Maybe I am stupid but I thought overnight delivery meant the next day. Well it doesn't, it said " do you want this delivered on the 26th?" so I paid. When my books did not come yesterday I checked the tracking and it said estimated delivery date August 27.

It may not have shipped out on time.... When you pay for the one day delivery and it says "order in the next XXX minutes and have it by XXX", it's usually right on time. However, sometimes the fulfillment centers cannot get the book out on time to meet the deadline. It happens, unfortunately.

If you call customer service, their system will show that you ordered on time and it should have been delivered by the 26...As a former customer service associate for Amazon. Com, I know for a fact what can be seen in the system. Let me expalin this...When you place an order and it's gone into the shipping process, that means the people at the FC have received the order and they are in the process of locating and pulling the books that they have (not everything is stored at one location) and getting them packaged and put in boxes.

When the one day orders come through, it become a mad dash to locate the book, package it and get it to the waiting UPS truck. Sometimes that doesn't happen the way that we expect, causing a frustrated customer. If you call customer service, they will be willing to help you and, because of the delay, give you 50% of your money back.

1 I dunno if it means you will or won't get it today, but if you ordered before the deadline for next-day deliv and you didn't get it the next day, then I'd ask for a refund of the shipping charges. I've done it once and they bent over backwards to take care of it. They gave me a credit immediately.

Their response was so amazing -- they overnighted me a new toasted oven to replace a dead on arrival one. Twice.(The second wasn't dead on arrival, UPS picked it up thinking it was the dead one I'd repackaged.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
