Has anyone ever selected the "You're Hot!" button when adding fan mail for a Hubber you follow?

No, I haven't done it yet. I did want to one time, but lost my nerve. I guess I am not even a good flirt online.

No, never used it. I think the Hot here means the hub is hot or cool or great and not the usual meaning that is attributed to being hot.

Yes~ If something they wrote in their profile made me laugh, I'll add "You're Hot! ".

I've got one, but I think it largely depends on the person who sends it -- if it's someone who writes amusing hubs, you're likely to find it pretty funny. If it's someone who writes solely about how desperate they are for a husband or wife, you might get a little creeped out. (I found mine amusing, for the record.).

I didn't know it existed! I'll be using that one.... (Just Kidding).

100 Seeker7 saysIt doesn't bother me all that much if it's just a case of not leaving fan mail - that's up to how the individual hubber feels about leaving fan mail. What does annoy me a bit is when a hubber follows you, but they haven't read or responded to any hubs I've written! This seems a bit odd and I agree with you, I don't think this is from the heart but just a way of getting numbers up!

I don't really think about it when I get followers and no fan mail.

I like to assume they want to read my work. I hope that is true, but if not, no big deal. You can help the HubPages community highlight top quality content by ranking this answer up or down.

95AudreyHowitt saysI often feel awkward leaving fan mail other than a welcome for someone that I do not know well yet and hence I leave very little fan mail. You can help the HubPages community highlight top quality content by ranking this answer up or down. 95UnnamedHarald saysI'm like Audrey.

I certainly don't mind not getting any fan mail (or getting it). I'm just glad to be followed and I hope those I follow feel the same way. I guess I look at it the same with sending Christmas cards-- I could force myself to write some pithy or awkward note and therefore give me another reason to procrastinate and dread sending the cards, or I could just send them.

I follow someone because I enjoyed reading what they wrote and want to read more of their Hubs. If have something meaningful to say, I'll leave fan mail.It doesn't bother me when someone chooses to follow me and doesn't leave fan mail. I would hope that they're following me because they like what I wrote.

It's their choice to follow me and their choice to leave fan mail or not. I never would consider following someone just because they followed me first. I only follow people whose writing I really like.

To me, following without leaving fan mail is better than reading a hub or two and not commenting or following, even though you gave the hub a good vote. I didn't expect this to work the way Twitter does (or at least the way most people on Twitter operate), so I don't get the sense following means you have to get followed back. It's an honor getting recognition from my peers any way it comes.

I don't let it bother me.

On the contrary, no fan mail gives me a little reprieve - I feel less obligated to rush to read their work if they have not made any contact in comments, fan mail or otherwise (though sooner or later I do take the time to read their hubs - I enjoy finding out what my followers are about). I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
